He was the son of the eminent landscape painter Edvard Bergh, who belonged to the circle of paint King Carl XV. Richard Bergh was the first student of Perseus, in the established art school, he became partner with, inter alia, Nordstrom, Krouthén and Björck, and then 1878-81 at the Academy of Fine Arts. Richard Bergh was the first student of Perseus, in the established art school, he became partner with, inter alia, Nordstrom, Krouthén and Björck, and then 1878-81 at the Academy of Fine Arts.
