He has been interested in painting and drawing since his early childhood when he filled his second grade school papers with drawings rather than class work. A serious interest in landscape painting began in 1978 when a friend gave him a French easel loaded with oil paints. He went out painting as often as possible, attempting to record observations of light and color. In the early 1980's he received coaching from Taos, NM artist Ray Vinella. Further studies with New York artist Wolf Kahn and California artist Wayne Thiebaud helped to provide a foundation for... Read full biography
