Roger Bertemes was an artist from Luxembourg who was trained at Johnny Friedlaender's engraving workshop in Paris. He received numerous awards for his work and his pieces were featured in international collections such as the Museum of Modern Art in Venice, the Library of Congress in Washington, and the Museum of Modern Art in Dublin. Bertemes became a teacher and later a professor of art education in 1947. He was passionate about the transmission and pedagogy of art and was heavily involved in the association "Art at School" in Luxembourg, which aimed to promote artistic awakening in young children.
