Roman Ribera Cirera (1849-1935). A figure, interior and genre painter, he was born in the Catalan region of Spain. Roman Ribera Cirera studied in Barcelona and Rome and was a student of Pere Borell. He was highly influenced in his art by the work of Mariano Fortuny. In 1878 he signed a contract with French art dealer Goupil, who had a group of Spanish painters under contract, including Raimundo De Madrazo and Francisco Miralles.
