After Harvard, he spent a year at the Boston University School of Fine Arts and the following year at the New York Studio School, where he worked with teacher Mercedes Matter. Walker received an M.F.A. in painting from Columbia University as a Breevort Fellow in 1968. His teachers included Morton Sachs, Walter Murch, Charles Cajori, Nicholas Carone, Stephen Greene, Tony Harrison, and John Heliker.He established a studio in Brooklyn, and married his first wife in...
