Simona Weller was born in 1940 in Rome. Her first drawing teacher has been Leoncillo Leonardi, who very soon recognized and encouraged her talent. After the high school (liceo classico) in Rome, she applied to the Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied with Ferruccio Ferrazzi, Mario Mafai and Mino Maccari.
