An accomplished American painter, his art spans 66 years, an illustrious body of work that earns him a distinct place in American art history. Born in 1929, he was raised in upstate New York, where as a young boy, he was strongly influenced by the paintings of his great grandfather, Ralph Albert Blakelock, one of the most unique of the 19th century Hudson River School painters.
