Greer is a native South Carolinian and earned a B.S. from The Citadel in 1942, and a B.S. from Clemson University. In 1960, he studied at the Atlanta School of Art with Ben Shute. In New York City, he attended the National Academy of Design as a student of Robert Phillipp. He has exhibited widely throughout the Southeast.
