Willi Voss was a German painter and draftsman born in Hamburg in 1902. He was an autodidact in painting and drawing and received a scholarship from the Amsinck Foundation in 1936. Voss was a member of the Hamburg artists' association and the Kleiner Hamburger Künstlerring since 1933 and from 1953. He served in the military from 1940-47 and was held captive during that time.
