Read full biography Welsh born William Mason was a regular exhibitor with the McClelland Galleries in Belfast and at the Royal Academy. He studied at Newport College of Art from 1923-1927, the Royal College of Art from 1927-1931, and later taught at Scarborough School of Art and at St. Albans School of Art until retirement in the early 1970s. His brother, Gilbert Mason (1913-1972) also a painter, was based mainly in Birmingham.
