Wang Yachen, also known as Songnian and Yunyin, was born in 1894 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. He was an influential twentieth-century Chinese artist active in both oil painting and traditional Chinese painting. Over the course of his career, Wang Yachen held several important academic and cultural positions, serving as a professor at the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, dean of the Xinhua Art Academy, principal of the Xinhua Normal School, and a member of the Chinese Painting Society Committee....
