Yvan Theys was a Belgian painter, sculptor and collage artist. Born in the Flemish village of Mark, he was a graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc. In 1959, he became professor in the Institut Saint-Luc and remained a teacher there until 1996 . Emotionally charged, his artwork is about human destiny and confrontation between men and women.
