He mainly created religious representations, stylistically his work is very close to that of Frans Franckens d. J. (1581-1642). Sometimes his pictures were created in collaboration with Hans Jordaens (1595-1643). The Carrying of the Cross - Christ and St. Veronika surely represents one of the artist's main works. It is painted on a highly precious, unusually large copper plate. While Christ meets Veronika under the cross in the foreground of the popular scene, in the background you can see the city of Jerusalem on the left, Golgatha on the right in the distance.The stylistic similarities of the physiognomies...
