After Franco Azzinari's parents died, still very young, he abandoned his native Calabria and started a real cultural trip to Europe. For several years he stopped in Paris, where he came under the influence of the great dell'impressionisismo. In 1973 he settled in Lerici (La Spezia) where the following year he opened his first solo, which officially began his intense artistic activity. Also in 1974, he inaugurated in Milan a studio-gallery. In 1977 he began a series of travels in the Far East about the most ancient traces of civilization, followed, in subsequent years, by major travel in the US, the Seychelles, Brazil and Greece.
