However, there does not seem to be a noticeable similarity in their artwork. The painting of Gerardo Chavez, initially figurative-realist, changed to surrealism and was much influenced by the Chilean painter Eduardo Matta. Gerardo, with great imaginative fantasy, also became very focused on developing drawing and color skills.
