    Born in Piraeus, 1940, Achilleas Droungas studied in the Athens School of Fine Arts, hagiography and engraving (1959 - 1964), under K. Grammatopoylos, and he continued the engraving studies in the Slade School of Fine Art in London, under A. Gross and B. Dos Santos, with scholarship (1970 - 1973) and in Tamarind Institute of Lithography of New Mexico, USA, with scholarship of the Ford institution (1976).

    Up to 1974 he deals with engraving, and creates surrealistic compositions of enigmatic character. From 1974 he is into oil painting. His painting is distinguished for its big realistic precision but also for the exploitation of hallucination that causes the optical illusion, as well as stylistic and paintings of subjects of Reb...
