    An Extremaduran* painter of landscapes, genre and hunting themes, Adelardo Covarsí was initiated into art by Felipe Checa, thanks to the encouragement of his father, a great art collector. From Checa he inherited the realistic language and the solidity of drawing, the basis of his painting. He later completed his training at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid, where he entered in 1903 and had as a companion Eugenio Hermoso, also from Extremadura, whose influence would be decisive in the development of the young Covarsí's work.

    After completing his studies he travelled around Spain and Europe, visiting Italy, France, England, Portugal and the Netherlands. As a result of this trip he published Italia...
