    Adriaen Lievensz van der Poel was a Dutch artist who lived in the 17th century. He was influenced by Hendrick Sorgh, Hendrik Potuyl, and Saftleven. In 1654, he witnessed the explosion of the Delft powder magazine, which greatly impacted his artistic production. He focused on representations of nocturnal fires, and some of his works are kept at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the National Gallery in London, the Louvre in Paris, and the Boijmans Van Beuningen of Rotterdam.
