    A prominent Canadian painter, printmaker, draftsman, muralist, sculptor and educator, Adrien Hebert was born in Paris, France and died in Montreal, Quebec, where he had lived most of his life. Hebert is best known as a painter of urban genre*, his most well-known paintings are of the city of Montreal, its harbor and its people. He was the subject of a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada, a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, and his life and works are discussed in many Canadian art history books.
