    Agda Holst was a Swedish artist born in Kristianstad in 1885. She traveled to Paris at a young age to study at Académie Colarossi and later with André Lhote. Her debut solo exhibition in Lund in 1927 was a great success, and she received portrait orders and realized she could support herself as an artist. She exhibited in various cities in Sweden and Copenhagen, and in 1933, her still lifes were exhibited at the Salon des indépendents in Bordeaux, receiving praise from critics and audiences. Holst's main motifs were portrait and still life painting, and she was known for her new objectivity and Cubism style.
