    Agostino Bonalumi (1935-2013)

    Agostino Bonalumi's apprenticeship began with a training as a draftsman at the 'Istituto Tecnico Industriale' in Vimercate near Milan. Between 1957 and 1958, he visited the studio of Enrico Baj in Milan. There he met Piero Manzoni and Enrico Castellani, with whom he exhibited several times, as well as founding the magazine and gallery 'Azimuth'. Influenced by Lucio Fontana and the informel art, he mainly created reliefs and three-dimensional spatial arrangements. In 1960, the founders of the Azimuth gallery separated, and Bonalumi and Manzoni joined the 'ZERO' group.
