A frequent exhibitor in London, he showed thirty seven pictures in the metropolis over the period from 1859-1878, specialising in small still lifes executed in a naturalistic manner. A frequent exhibitor in London, he showed thirty seven pictures in the metropolis over the period from 1859-1878, specialising in small still lifes executed in a naturalistic manner. Albert worked from a studio at their house Chilworth Towers for over half a century. His works characterised by his meticulous detailed style, executed in a pre-Raphaelite manner. Lucas exhibited widely, frequently in London, and also more locally at exhibitions with the Southampton Art Society. In 1880 he won a gold medal at an International exhibition held at Melbourne, Australia.... Read full biography
