    Alcide Davide Campestrini (1863-1940)

    Alcide Davide Campestrini was born on November 9th, 1863 at Trento, Italy. He attended courses at the Brera Art Academy in Milan where he was a pupil of Giuseppe Bertini. He was later employed at that same Academy as a portrait instructor.

    His work consisted of portraits, religious subjects, mural decoration and landscapes. He was awarded the Gavassi Prize in 1894, and also exhibited in the great Milan Exhibition in 1906. He also spent time decorating churches, villas and palaces in the Trento region and also the Theatre of Trento. In November of 1951 he held a solo exhibition at the Ranzini Gallery in Milan.
