Aleksander Swieszewski, a Polish landscape painter, was educated and settled in Munich. He began his education by studying at Warsaw Fine Arts School under Christian Breslauer. In the year 1863 he joined the January Uprising. After the fall of the uprising he went to Munich where he studied at Academy under professor Fritz Bamberger.

He traveled a lot to Italy, France, Tirol and Swiss. While visiting Poland he was in the Tatra mountains.
