Alexandru ?ipoia was a Romanian painter with Greek-Swiss heritage. ?ipoia studied painting under the supervision of professor and artist Camil Ressu, graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest. ?ipoia is considered one of the most influential modern painters in Romania, alongside Alexandru Ciucurencu, Corneliu Baba, and Ion ?uculescu. ?ipoia’s paintings employ a wide palette of colours and strokes that engender intense and vivid atmospheres.
