He achieved an honourable mention in 1885, was awarded a third-class medal in 1888, a second-class in 1889, and a silver medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1900. He was made Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur in 1900. Vollon deserved greater public recognition. He worked at the time of the Impressionists, and his subject matter was similar to that School.
