    Italian-born Swiss painter (1839 Milan [Milano] in Lombardy until 1906 Lugano-Davesco)

    Studied 1853-58 at the Accademia di Brera in Milan, 1859-62

    Participation with his uncle, the painter Angelo Trezzini, in the Italian War of Independence, 1862

    Desertion and flight to Astano in Switzerland, 1864-66 in Geneva, then moved to Davesco- Soragno [now part of Lugano] in Ticino, Switzerland, Regular stays in Milan,

    In the 1870s, among other things, exhibitions in Milan and Turin, regular participation in the rotating exhibitions of the Swiss Art Association, maintained close artist friendship with Luigi Monteverde (1843-1923)

    1875 honored with the Mylius Prize,
