Andrea Adamson Tiger (1973 - 2019) came from a family of artists with cultural ties to the lands around Amata on the APY lands in northern South Australia. Her mother, Kukita Adamson, aunt Rini Tiger and grandfather Tiger Palpatja are important painters.

One of the main tracks or dreams of this region is the Seven Sisters Tjukurrpa, the Dream of the 7 Sisters. This story forms the basis of many paintings by Andrea Adamson.

Andrea spent her youth in Alice Springs attending Yirara College and spent part of her studies in Woodville, South Australia.
