    Andrzej Fogtt is a Polish artist born in Poznan in 1950. He studied at the State College of Fine Arts in Poznan and obtained his diploma in 1974. Fogtt participated in exhibitions from the mid-1970s and won the Grand Prix at the Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting in Szczecin in 1984.

    In the same year, he represented Poland at the XLI Biennale in Venice with a work co-signed with Bozenna Biskupska called the "Mystery of Time" environment. Andrzej's style at this peak of his career was based on the contrast of centrally located, hieratic silhouettes and the tiny, flickering "scales" of the brushstrokes that build them. A similar style persists in the artist's later works.
