    Ángel Lizcano Monedero (Alcazar de San Juan, November 24, 1846 - Leganés, July 31, 1929) was a Spanish painter and illustrator. Born in 1846 in Alcázar de San Juan, 1 on November 24, he went to Madrid at the age of seven, where his parents were going to run a bookstore. At fourteen, he began studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and there he received classes from Francisco Mendoza, obtaining the highest grades. He made copies of the Prado Museum, especially Goya, Velázquez and Murillo, but also contemporaries Eugenio Lucas and Leonardo Alenza and other Spanish authors. He was granted a scholarship in 1869 by the Marquis of Bedmar to finish his training in Italy; He then traveled extensively throughout Spain...
