    Angelika Tübke (née Hennig) studied from 1954 to 1959 at the Academy of Graphic Arts and Book Design in Leipzig under Gerhard Kurt Müller and Werner Tübke, whom she later married (1960–1976). After completing her studies she worked in Leipzig as a freelance painter and graphic artist, and in 1982 she moved to Dalliendorf in Mecklenburg. She remained a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR until 1990.
    In her artistic practice she devoted herself to representational painting, employing Old Master glazing techniques. Her principal subjects were portraiture, landscape painting, and still life. Her technical mastery and her sensitive, expressive approach to depicting people and nature have earned her international recognit...
