About Angelo Ippolito

  • Biography

    A painter active in the New York Abstract Expressionist movement and also working in Provincetown, Massachusetts from 1956 to 1965, Angelo Ippolito was born in St. Arsenio, Italy. He studied at Ozenfan School of Fine Arts in New York, at the Brooklyn Museum Art School with John Ferren, and at the Meschini Institute in Rome, Italy. He was a teacher during most of his professional life including Cooper Union in New York from 1956 to 1966; Michigan State University, 1966 to 1971; and from 1971 at the State University of New York in Binghamton, New York.

    A retrospective of his work was held in 1975 at the University Art Gallery of the State University of New York Binghamton.
