About Anna Hasselman

    Anna Hasselman was a painter, museum curator, teacher and etcher who was born and lived in Indianapolis, Indiana. She studied at the Art Students League, the Art Institute of Chicago, and with William Merritt Chase, Charles Hawthorne, and William Forsyth. She also studied at Columbia University and Mount Vernon Seminary.

    From 1925 to 1935, she was an instructor in art history at the Herron Art Institute, and from 1930 to 1952 was also a curator at that Institute. For ten years, she was an instructor at the Mount Vernon Seminary. She retired in 1952.

    Among the locations where she painted was Washington DC.
