    Anna Petrovna Ostroumowa-Lebedewa * (1871, St. Petersburg, Russia-1955, Leningrad) was an engraver, graphic artist and painter.
    She grew up in the family of a high official. From 1889 to 1892, she attended the Central College of Technical Drawing of Baron A. L. Stieglitz. From 1892 to 1900, she studied at the Petersburg Art Academy with Vasily Mathé and Ilya Repin and Pavel Chistyakov. She completed her training as a recognized artist with an exhibition of 14 engravings.

    From 1898 to 1899, she worked in Paris and was a student at the Académie Carmen. From 1899, she took part in the activities that ultimately led to the foundation of the artist association Mir Iskusstwa. In 1905 she married chemist Sergei Lebedew, who was the first...
