Anne Katrine Dolven was born in 1953. Anne Katrine Dolven left her hometown Oslo at the age of 19 to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Aix-en-Provence and at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1987/88 she stayed at the artist in residence program at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin. A DAAD Scholarship enabled her to stay in Berlin for a little bit longer, finally only leaving in 1997 to London, the town she still calls home.
