    Anton Müller, later known as Anton Müller-Wischin after his marriage in 1901, was a German painter born in 1865 in Weißenhorn near Ulm. He initially worked as a village school teacher before turning to painting at the suggestion of Franz von Lenbach. Müller-Wischin studied at the painting school of Heinrich Knirr in Munich and was largely self-taught artistically. He undertook study trips to Italy and was awarded the title of professor in 1925. Müller-Wischin was a member of various artist associations and exhibited his work in Munich and at the Great German Art Exhibition.
