Antonín Chittussi was a Czech artist who gained renown in the Czech Republic and abroad during the 19th century. He was known for his landscape paintings and drawings, inspired by the daily and atmospheric changes in Fontainebleau, Normandy, and Brittany in France. Chittussi's work influenced a generation of younger painters connected by the atelier Julio Marák at the Prague Academy. Despite being a solitary figure forging his own path, he created a respectable number of artworks of high artistic value within a relatively short period of time.
