Painter, curator of the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art (MEAC) and art critic, Juan Antonio Aguirre studied Philosophy and Psychology. He attended painting classes with Sorolla's disciple, the Valencian José Manaut Viglietti. He was appointed director of the Galería Amadís, where he had previously exhibited as a painter, and promoted artists such as Luis Gordillo, Elena Asíns, García Ramos, Jordi Teixidor and José M. Yturralde, among others.
