    Antonio Bandeira (Fortaleza, Brazil 1922 - Paris, France 1967)

    Painter, draftsman and engraverm he began painting as a self-taught artist. In 1941, in Fortaleza, he participated, alongside Mário Baratta (1915-1983) and others, in the creation of the Cultural Center of Fine Arts - CCBA, which gives rise, in 1943, to the Sociedade Cearense de Artes Pláticas - SCAP.

    In 1945, he moved to Rio de Janeiro and, in the following year, he held his first individual exhibition at the Institute of Architects of Brazil - IAB / RJ. Contemplated by the French government with a scholarship, he remained in Paris from 1946 to 1950.
