    Born in Caracas, ARmando Reveron studied painting at the Academia de Bellas Artes in Caracas in 1908. During his studies, Reverón met Rafael Monasterios, with whom he exhibited at the Academia in 1910. In 1911 he went to Spain and studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Barcelona and at the Academia de San Fernando in Madrid in 1913. After a trip to Paris he returned to Caracas in 1915 where he joined the anti-academic Círculo de Bellas Artes founded by Manuel Cabré and others in 1912.

    His early work was influenced by the Russian designer and watercolorist Nicolas Ferdinandov, who went to Caracas in 1916, as well as the Spanish modernist school. Later he developed an original form of impressionism culminating in his "sepia" and "...
