    GROSEMANS, Arthur (Brussels, 1906-1995)

    Painter and watercolorist, lithographer.

    Studies at Antwerp and Brussels academies where he attends life-drawing classes under E. Fabry and J. Delville.

    Self taught in painting.

    A lithographic draughtsman by profession, he teaches this field at the Brussels Institute of Arts and Crafts from 1937 to 1968.


    He is a friend of the painters G. Bertrand, L. Van Lint, A. Mortier and A. Bonnet, with whom he exhibits at the Apport group salons from 1941 to 1943.

    He holds an important place within Belgian lyrical abstraction, where he is one of its most talented watercolorists. His development will go from a progressive abandonment of figurative art to abst...
