In addition to painting the mural "Nuevo Laredo de Ayer y Hoy" in Nuevo Laredo, he was awarded the annual prize of the William and Noma Copley Foundation. The award was given by Marcel Duchamp during his visit to Mexico, and having received that great honor, Estrada decided to travel to Paris as a guest of art promoter William Copley and his wife Noma.
