    Auguste Louis Veillon was born in 1834 and died in 1890. Veillon should pursue a religious career and therefore first studied theology at the College of Lausanne according to the will of his parents. In 1857 he decided to become a painter and entered into Geneva from the studio of François Diday. Self-taught embossed study trips to Paris, where he met the famous Orientalist Eugène Fromentin, as well as to London and Rome rounded out his education.

    Later many stays followed in the Arab world. Veillons specialty was the one hand, Swiss Zealand properties, on the other hand oriental landscapes with its narrower interest was always thought to atmospheric phenomena, as well as the light and the mood of different t...
