    Augusto Torres, son of painter Joaquín Torres García, was influenced by plastic constructivism. He exhibited his work in Paris in 1930 and was a member of the Asociación de Arte Constructivo in Montevideo. Torres studied pre-Columbian art in Bolivia in 1942 and continued to be active in the art scene. He held his major exhibition in New York in the 1960s and painted murals in various cities. His works are now part of public and private collections, including the Torres García Museum in Montevideo.
