    Elizabeth "Babs" Day Breneiser was born in Washington, DC on April 20, 1890. After graduation from George Washington University, "Babs" Day studied art at the New York School of Fine & Applied Arts and in Europe. At 17 she met Stanley Breneiser at art class and they were soon married. Following her studies, she taught at Erie, PA (1918-19) and by 1927 had moved to Santa Maria, CA. She was on the faculty at Santa Maria School of Art and Union High School until 1945 when she moved to Santa Fe, NM with her husband. There they operated the Hill & Canyon School of the Arts through the mid-1950s. Mrs. Breneiser died in Santa Fe on Oct. 16, 1983. Member: So. Calif. Art Teachers Ass'n; Laguna Beach AA; Pacific AA.
