    Berta Schrader was a German artist born in Memel in 1845. She grew up in St. Petersburg and moved to Dresden in 1854. Schrader studied under Erwin Oehme in Dresden, Paul Graeb in Berlin, and Friedrich Kallmorgen in Karlsruhe. She also undertook study trips through Holland, Austria, Northern Italy, and Switzerland. Schrader was active in the Dresden City Museum and was a member of various artist associations, including the Association of Women Artists in Berlin, the Bund Deutsch-Austrian artists' associations, the General German Art Cooperative, and the Dresden Artists' Cooperative. She participated in numerous art exhibitions throughout Germany and sent her work to exhibitions in Königsberg, Berlin, Dresden, Hanover, Bremen, Danzig, and Ham...
