In the years 1907-1910 he studied at the Drawing School in Warsaw under the guidance of J. Kauzik and M. Kotarbinski. Then, from 1910 to 1912, he studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under Stanislaw Lentz. Blazej Iwanowski belonged to several creative groups, including Zacheta, Ensemble, Independent and the Warsaw Artistic Society. He exhibited at the TZSP in Warsaw, at the TPSP in Kraków, in Poznan, and in later years also in Sopot. He painted interiors, architectural motifs, still lifes, flowers, as well as portraits and genre scenes.
