    Bue Jack Kee, Chinese American, was born in Portland, Oregon in 1893. He was hearing impaired and did not make it past grade school. He lived on a farm outside of Portland named Aurora.

    He attended the Museum School of Art in Portland and was awarded the 1st Carey Award in 1929. He was involved as a ceramic artist in the Federal Art Project part of the WPA at Timberline Lodge at Mt Hood and Tongue Naval base.
