    Carlos Ruano Llopis (Orba, April 10, 1878-Mexico City, September 2, 1950) was a Spanish bullfighting painter and poster artist.

    Carlos Ruano was born on April 10, 1878 in Orba, into a modest family, being the fourth of seven siblings. After completing primary studies in his hometown under the watchful eye of his beloved first letters teacher, Ismael Serrano, he moved to Alicante where, together with his brother Pedro, he would start high school, continuing and concluding his studies in Valencia with excellent academic record.

    Faced with the financial need of his family as a result of the premature death of his father, he decided to abandon his studies and move to a fan-making workshop where, while with his salary, he contribut...
