Cecilia Edefalk is a Swedish artist known for her introspective and conceptually layered practice spanning painting, sculpture, and photography. Born in Norrköping in 1954, she studied at Konstfack and later at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, where she developed the philosophical and visual foundations of her work.

Edefalk’s art explores the boundaries between presence and absence, original and replica, often through repeated imagery and subtle shifts in composition. Her engagement with classical sculpture, historical iconography, and self-representation is marked by a restrained palette and a meditative sensibility, frequently utilizing grisaille techniques to invoke timelessness and reflection.
